Need help for Assigning an IP Address for the Cypress Ultrasound, following 3 steps are in the manual.
1. Press the SETUP function key.
2. Highlight Network Identification to display the selection menu.
3. Click [ADD] and enter the requested data.
When I click add button a window is opened in which all spaces are already filled except network name. Can anybody tell me what is meant by above 3 steps,do I need to copy some ip address from my PC to echo machine or from echo machine to my PC or do I need to do something with subnet mask or default gateway. thanks a lot for the help.

Hi sdraza you really need to supply a lot more information about your particular setup! What sort of network is it connected to?

Scenario (Based on our system) We have our acquisition unit (Your Ultrasound) and you are going to connect it to your hospital network, probably so medical staff can remotely access the records via their PC! So as far as the network is concerned your Cypress Ultrasound just appears as a PC on this network; and as such it requires a unique identity (Think of a post code). This unique identity is your IP address and is usually assigned by your Information Technology Department.

You really need to speak to your network administrator to obtain your IP and your particular hospital network protocol.

Hope this helps

Hello there
Most network servers automatically assign a dynamic IP address to new machines connected to the network.Think of it as "plug and play" and maybe you just need to fill in the network name for it to start playing. But you will have to be nice to the IT,the may even show you the manual configuration but the network name only the network administrator will be able to help.IT usually adopts inhouse standards specific to the internal network.Have fun
