Interesting concept, but how long would the funding last and what conditions apply?

I would expect that the funding would last for the duration of the contract, no longer.

Alternatively the Trust could see sense and employ someone directly.

We have got loads of these at the Royal Free (London). But there looked after by the technicion in the equipment libary though so I don't know too much about them. I can put you in contact though if you are still interested.
