It sounds to me like you need to get your purchasing procedures sorted out, Dennis. Next time try:- "complete with all available technical information", or something like that. Then refuse to accept any new piece of equipment that isn't accompanied by the technical documentation you deem to be necessary. The bottom line is someone there has paid for something. Whilst information offered from this forum in freely given. Where do we send the bill? Meanwhile, see this link.

Apart from the machine you will need the user manual which usuallty comes in the same box. You will also need temperature snsor cables depending on what its being used for, there are several different cables. Whoever ordered it should have stated to F&P what it was going to be used for. Otherwise you dont usually get the cables with it you just get the humidifier If you go on F&P website the bits and pieces you will need to order are all there i think.

In my hospital, when they bought the new units, they have to informe us about it and run the Testing and Commisioning procedure (T&C). During T&C we have to check is the arrived units are according with the Delivery Order (DO) and followed the Purchase Order. If not, they have to complete it until that we will proceed to received. This is to avoid, miscompleteness of the accesories or manuals.

Yes, that's how it should (make that must) be. But it would be better yet if "they" consulted with you before purchasing any equipment.

Purchasing Policy & Procedure. Look through the catalogue (Argos) look for something shiny and in the right price range, upon purchase if it does not go "BEEP" then give it to BME and see what they can do to make it go "BEEP"

I think you will find commissioning isnt carried out on these devices. As per NHS PPQ in UK anyway.

I think you may need to explain that one, Karl. I admit to being "yesterday's man", but I have always taken the view that all new kit gets commissioned!

Part of the PPQ states whether or not installation / commission is needed. In the past i've never seen any PPQ that states humidifiers ned this. We have always est them and function test. An obviously you have warranty.
