We have recently been trialling the abbott APM epidural and the anaethetists and pain nurse prefer it to the competition.

Hi Mark ! We've just bought a few of these pumps. The clinical staff were impressed and we found them accurate and easy to use. There are lots of nice safety features built into the software and the self-test / calibration routine makes checking them out a doddle. Our only concern was the clear plastic case which held the pump and the bag. On one of the ones we had for evaluation the plastic was crazed around the hinges and the lock mechanism. The rep assured us that if we had any breakages, Abbott would replace them for us.
Today is the day you worried about yesterday - and all is well !

Thanks for the feedback, Mark. I really must read the membership information more carefully ! Incidently, I'd just like to point out to everyone else that we don't really have a comunication problem here at Stockport. Mark and I do usually converse in the normal, verbal manner ! Just one sugar in mine please Mark.

Hi We have been using these pumps for about 6 months. no real problems and the unit is liked by all staff . Only problem is the power supply, the white connector is a bit fragile.

We have had these units about 9 months now and the only complants have been about the power supplys getting stepped on and run over by beds etc.. We have been informed by our Abbott rep that the 3v 0.6A power supply unit is to be replaced with a compact plug-in DC Adaptor soon.Maybe the White connector plugs are to be modified at the same time.
For more info contact Abbott: Richard Powell 01795593818 or Andrew Womerly 01795593819
