A lot older and a lot wiser, maybe when you see how much effort and time is involved in creating tender specs (proper ones) you may change your mind about giving them away.

Obviously not addressed for me, then, Neil. I would never give specs away. Like you, I know the true value of them.

And (unlike you, I suspect) I also know the kind of money idjits get paid to produce garbage specs on (for example) PFI hospital projects in the UK.

Needless to say, I didn't last longer than a couple of weeks myself, as I refused to simply churn out, er, crap.

Bowing down? What, not even to the King?*

* I've shaken his hand, you know (but I doubt that he would remember). One of my lesser claims to fame!

Bow down to no one, and I spend a fair amount of time in the Palaces here in Jeddah. (Abdullah or Fahd)

I know it's a lot of work, but I believe that the NHS (as a whole) should only ever have to do it once.

On a lighter note, and when I was single and much younger:

I always found the reverse was true when it came to the 'courting game'..........

Ask "ECRI" for one, I am sure they will donate their specs to you and the NHS for free as a gesture of goodwill, so to speak.
