I will be travelling to Cornwall this Friday. I should be hitting the Tamar bridge between 1500 and 1600. Is this a good idea or should I consider the A30 option.

Can any advise please

Best wishes,

Paul.

Take the Bridge. It will give you the opportunity of reflecting upon Brunel's 150 years old masterpiece alongside! smile

Thank's for advice and interesting Web cam link Geoff.

How much reflection time do you would be involved during Friday traffic? smile

Best wishes,

Paul.

I'm sure when John gets on-line, he will be able to answer you Paul. (He lived in Cornwall for many years.)

The real answer to what Paul is driving at (note the pun ... and yes, it can be argued that Brunel's bridge is best seen from the train) is:-

"It really depends where you're coming from, and where you're heading to"!

That is, if you're travelling from the Midlands, how come you're contemplating passing by Plymouth-Saltash at all?

On the other hand, if (like me) you prefer to take your time and follow the more scenic routes ... why not pass through Bristol? That way you could take in I.K.B.'s famous suspension bridge at Clifton, as well! smile

I'm contemplating Plymouth Saltash for no better reason than the AA route planner points you in that direction! smile

Assuming that you are heading further down into Kernow, I think I can safely recommend the "A30 option"! smile

PS: take a glance at the map.
