Hi All Just wondered if anyone is willing to share their Trust's Management of Medical Devices Policy with me?
I am currently reviewing our policy and the Risk Department/Governance Dept feel that it isn't strong enough about what the organisation needs to do about medical devices.
Many thanks
Mandy

Mandy, In this modern era of openness our Trust, and I suspect others, publish their policies on the hospital public web sites. A bit of searching around should bring some to light. Here is the one for Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust for starters. Robert
My spelling is not bad. I am typing this on a Medigenic keyboard and I blame that for all my typos.

or AS 3551 though you may need to subscribe to get the full copy. However, give me your email if you are interested and I'll see what I can do. Dave

It's nice that someone went to the trouble of posting their checklists on Wikipedia. I wonder who it was? Am I right in assuming they can be edited by All and Sundry, though (which may, or may not, be a good thing)?

It's not actually Wikipedia, it's a private (bme.asn.au) wiki.

Yes, it looks that way. So what we need, then, is bme.asn.uk!

Might also point out that "3551" (the biomed bible down this way) is the 2004 version and is currently under review. New version expected in 2011. There have been various "open forums" held to discuss the changes and gain input from the general biomed community but, frankly, I can't be (arsed)/ bothered.... What will be will be, and we will deal with it
