Dear Ariel I use to do this & it works.. USE Q1 & Q2 for original transistors, for others use BUX80 transistors. The maximum output power will be around 310 watt in cut mode (if u r lucky u can get more).. Other wise u are right that they give in large qty.. Hope it works for you.

The BUX-80 is easily available. Have you tried it (them) at Q1, Q2 also? Failing that ... perhaps someone needs to bite on the bullet and order up a stock of 239 300 027 ... and then offer them right here on the forum?

Dear Geoff I have tried all 8pcs of BUX80 but we have to change some resistances in the MULTIVIBRATOR BOARD so to overcome the overall gain / output ratio. We have a NEURODYNE ESU tester, so we can test different resistance to output power ratio. So i cant tell u the exact resistance value. On the other hand if Q1 & Q2 are original transistors then there is either v few changes needed or some times it will work in first attempt. Again i will explain that the BUX80 will not be able to deliver max 350-380watt output in Cut. But i have achieve 350watt max in one SSE2L (lucky client).. Here in Pakistan, customers & hospitals cant afford original transistors as their cost is way high.. Hope it helps. Thanks.. The real replacement of valleylab original transistors is v difficult because of high hFe gain, which is not available in market.. If customer can afford original transistors then u should buy from SOMATECHNOLOGY, replace all, do keep others as spares.. Good luck..
