I remember the 17th of January 1991 very well. I was in Khamis Mushayt. Where were you?

We had the dubious privilege of being the first to see the "stealth fighter" (F-117) flying overhead in broad daylight.

As a note to all my Filipino and Indians fans (yes, I know you're out there), I also took care of my 66 guys, at 13 lonely jobs sites scattered over a large area in the south west of the Kingdom, whilst the Saudi's laid explosive charges on the wadi crossings (and good stuff like that). I had a Plan, but I don't think I had better outline it here.

A few years later I had a chance to wander around the "battlefield" (ie, bit of desert) at Khajfi. The burnt-out Iraqi armoured vehicles were still there, as were the shell holes in the side of the MOH hospital.

Get some in, Mate(s)! whistle

Unfortunately I couldn't be there at the time as the Royal Air Force decided that I was better employed elsewhere.

(Get some in, Mate). Been there, done that, got the T shirt. After 23 years service I reckon I was owed one.

Just out of interest (and forgive my ignorance or, if it is bleeding obvious, my stupidity), what does RACSO stand for?

I think they mean RASCO and there is a typo in the heading!?

If indeed it is RASCO, maybe the following applies:

an acronym for "Realistic, Ambitious, Serious, Cautious, and Organized"

That's odd ... I thought it stood for Google! whistle

@Mike: Nice answer. I appreciate it.

@Kawa: Yeah, you're right. It seems that Bill is into anagrams:-

1) RACSO :: RASCO
2) Lybia :: Libya

Oh well, never mind. smile

I prefer Remote Air Sampling for Canine Olfaction myself.
Is that a dog sniffing down a hose?

My spelling is not bad. I am typing this on a Medigenic keyboard and I blame that for all my typos.

I do not think it would fit in my bath otherwise I might put a bid in. Somewhere interesting to store my airfix models rather than pinning them to the ceiling.
