I am trying to find replacement backlights for a GE/Datex monitor fitted to an ADU anaesthetic machine. The company cannot supply the item and suggest a complete monitor.
Does anyone know of a company I could send a sample to?

There's a lot of stuff there, Dave.

It would be dead easy to order the wrong gear, I reckon! smile

Unfortunately a US company, so watch out for getting caught for import tax - and especially the expensive charge for collecting it - he says from experience.

My spelling is not bad. I am typing this on a Medigenic keyboard and I blame that for all my typos.

Try this

http://www.omi-monitors.co.uk/medical_monitor.html

They do a fixed price repair of most Medical Flat Panel monitors.

Thanks for the input. Have contacted OMI Monitor Repair at Stevenage, fixed price repair quoted at £150 plus VAT.
Sending the monitor to them, will let you know the outcome.
Chris

Looks like OMI could well be the craic there, Chris. smile

And depending upon the (hopefully happy) outcome that we all look forward to hearing about, maybe this could be a Big Chance for OMI to impress - leading to further similar repairs being sent in their direction.

@Robert: you might find that Dave's boss would be pleased to act as agent in bringing parts like that from across the water. Who knows?

OK ... off topic now if I may:- can anyone identify an item shown at the OMI page linked to above. I'm interested in the box on the wall, with trunking heading up into the ceiling, partially obscured by the guy second from the right. think

It looks like a theatre heating control unit to me Geoff.

@Chris: hopefully, your monitor has been repaired by now, Chris! whistle

Meanwhile, has anyone had a go with any of this stuff? think

Hello Geoff

I've successfully used OMI to fix Spacelab flat panel monitors several times.

Make sure you pay the extra for courier insurance on return.
