See how you get on ? It may be that this guy has stopped making these kits.

Waters & Stanton sell, or used to sell their kits, they may be able to tell you if Lake are still trading. Waters and Stanton home page Paul. G4LNA

Thank Paul & Andy,
However the kit I'm trying to get hold of, Waters & Stanton do not stock. It is the 80w ATU with SWR meter. I've seen the other ATU kits, but none with the built in SWR meter.
I have tried the other e-mail to see what response it generates. Thanks again.

Hi Chris, I haven't seen that Lake Electronis advertised for a long time so I suspect it's no longer made. Have you thought about a second hand one? I notice Dave (G3RCQ) has MFJ-948 for sale on his site Click here It has a crossed needle VSWR meter and will handle up to 300 Watts (for future callsign upgrade?) and I think the scale is calibrated 0-30W and 0-300W, so your 10 Watts at present would be fine with it. BTW, Dave lives over in the Romford area. Paul.

Just off the subject slightly but notice your in London, on the ham license it states that your not allowed certain frequencies (70cms I think) in a range of Charing Cross, I'm sure thats right but my licence is at home.
Coming from London, do you know the reasons for this clause ? I know that 70cms is a shared band, but if you use the band have you ever heard anyone else on it ?
Right, all the best. Andy.

Thanks Paul, But it was the Kit I was interested in. Incedently, I have received a reply from Mr A.Lake this morning. Apparently due to personal circumstances, he has ceased trading for the interim. So I do not think I'll be able to pursue that avenue for some time, by which it may be late.
In response to Andy's question regards 70cms, I beleive it is because there is an emergency comms centre there that utilise that band when incidents occur in London. Also from memory (do not quote me on this) I believe a section is allocated to emergency comms anyway according to the band plans. If in doubt consult your band plans or RSGB. Chris-H

Very rewarding indeed, I heard a few european stations comming through the other night, was pratically nill QRN. That made me up.
