Just heard on the steam radio about proposals to increase the use (installation) of Wi-Fi antennae on church steeples - mostly in rural settings (aka villages).

Sounds like a good plan to me. And one that might bring in some additional donations (income to the church) as well.

Those 6th century guys had such fantastic foresight!

I saw this as well, 4 church's have closed in the past two years where I live and its not a big town. Maybe the church of England should sell off he metro centre and their shares in BAE systems they could give some money to folk who need it instead of asking for more ...

I've never been a great fan of religion (any of them) myself - but in my own mind I'm able to replace (ignore) the dogma and hold in its place the "good" aspects of faith (even if I don't participate in any of it personally).

BTW, this issue (antennae) is being discussed again right now on LBC. 120 church towers are already used for this purpose, apparently. "Spreading the Word", you might say.
