Hi,
Our dept. used to service/repair the old Propulse ear irrigators and had no issues with obtaining parts/service information.

The company have now brought out the G5 ear irrigator with the attached PPQ from this location on their website:
http://www.miragehealthgroup.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/PPQ-Propulse-G5-dated-22-01-15.pdf

We have recently called the company to get the required service information for these devices (as specified in the PPQ) only to be told that they have to be sent in to the manufacturer for the annual service at a cost in excess of what we would charge to do the work and with a 3 day turn-around - again, we typically completed the work on-site for the previous model. When pressed for answers as to why they are declaring that service information is available, their response is:
"It is available...to us."

I wondered if anyone has had any dealings with this company with regard to this model and their attitude towards the wording of the PPQ?

Also, does anyone know of an alternative device that they could recommend?

Cheers.

We deal with a variety of Propulse ear syringes in GP surgeries, the Propulse 2 was quite a robust piece of equipment but the Propulse 3 and Propulse NG I reckon are poor quality. We have asked for spare batteries and pumps for these units to no avail. So when either a battery fails or a pump is low on output, we have no means of repairing these units. This company just seem hell bent on making the repairs nigh on impossible for anyone outside their own organisation. Looks like their latest model is just going to be as problematic for repairs so with this being the case I would very much like to find an alternative supplier to. Any suggestions?

Hi Kit,
We never had any issues obtaining any spares for the older Mirage ear irrigators (or service information), but I am concerned about how the manufacturer filled out the G5 PPQ (which they still say is accurate), but they now insist that no service information or parts will be provided to any external bodies.

As for alternatives, there is this device:

or this one (although it says OUT OF STOCK):
http://www.pcwerth.co.uk/store/cerumen-m...rigation-system

Does anyone have any experience of either device?

Hi BSM,

Maybe in times gone by you could get spares for the older Mirage ear irrigators but unfortunately not anymore, the only thing they supply is the mushroom valves and o -rings for the resevoirs. So any Propulse 2s, 3s or NGs you have a problem with I'm afraid you will have to bin it unless you can cannibalise from another unit. Thanks for the links it would be interesting to hear any feedback from anyone using them. Maybe your right Geoff get back to basics, far cheaper and you avoid getting ripped off by greedy distributors, but I'm sure there will be some obstacle preventing this.
