Yes ... the Midnight Commander was "at it" again last night! whistle

I've just sent my comments off to you (Joe).

The bottom line is that it's looking good ... but you'll probably need to spend a bit of time on the Help file (Readme, FAQ ... all of the above).

Otherwise, you could release it out into the wild, let folk figure it out for themselves (it isn't that difficult), then just respond to queries as they arise (on here, maybe).

Just a couple of other points:-

1) It's interesting (for me, at least) to note how the files have grown (in size) with each revision.

2) Folk need to be clear that they shall need .NET Framework 4 installed.

For anyone who may be interested:- here is some info. about PDFsharp. smile

Pathfinder v1.05 is available for download. Its an early but very functional copy from the EBME website downloads

I have a nice list of things to add but i dont want that to stop you from organising and improving your library

OK folks, let's get it downloaded. smile

Then don't be shy in coming forward with any constructive comments (feedback) you may have.

OK Joe ... here's the first comment:- the help file is in .docx format. Any chance of a .pdf?

Further to the above ... I can recommend MyMorph 2. smile

Code:

Input Formats:-

DIF, DOC, DOCX, HTM, HTML, MCW, PDF, PPT, PRE,
RTF, TIFF, TTF, TXT, WK1, WK3, WPD, WQ1, XLS

Output Formats:-

PDF, TIF, TXT

@Joe: when I morphed your .docx file into a .pdf, the result was a quarter of the (file) size of the .pdf you showed me recently. The content appeared to be identical. So it looks like MyMorph might (also) be a useful tool when the need arises to reduce file sizes.

I have noticed in the past that .pdf's can sometimes be quite bloated, only to render "disappointing" results when you open them. I have always assumed that sort of thing has resulted from the choice of PDF Creator used in the first instance (which could also have been scanning software, of course) and (or) the option settings used at the time. So you might like to look into a "pdf size reducer" in future revisions of Pathfinder.

Meanwhile, other "pdf tools" that I can personally vouch for are:-

1) PDF Architect
2) PDF Creator

See PDFforge.

Others are available, of course (perhaps other forum members can share their experiences). think

Hi Phil,
Pathfinder was removed some time ago (at Joes request).
I've now removed the link in this thread - sorry about that.

Yes; three years on and still no news about Pathfinder. frown

It showed such promise ... and the version(s) I had packed up many moons ago; I never did get around to finding out why.

Maybe one day I'll have a go at reverse engineering something like it myself. Or, better yet, perhaps someone else might like to have a go!
