Anybody else having issues getting Medfusion (Smiths) equipment repaired?

We've had three 3500 syringe drivers away with them for repair, the first dating from early this year, maybe even the backend of last year - and still no ETA on repairs - they say they are busy and have a backlog, but four months, soon to be five?!? shocked

As usual, it sounds like they need some competition, Rob.

Are there no alternatives ... third-party, or in-house? think

Normally done in house but we waited so long for some parts that they developed additional faults, which meant fixed price repair was the cheaper option!

I'm not familiar with these pumps; but aren't they manufactured in the US?

Other sources for parts may be available.

Might be a US made product but was supplied by Smiths UK. The 3500 is a bit of a niche product - SCBU used to use them for transfers as they can do very low flow rates and have decent battery life but they have now been acquired by AICU for use when doing MRI's.

Anyway it's hard enough ordering from a new, accredited, UK supplier let alone a secondhand US parts supplier!

What faults are they developing, though? Anything specific, or "trending" ... or just the usual stuff due to normal "use"?
