Folks,
Has anyone got advice on the non contact range of thermometers (like the thermoflash http://www.thermoflash.fr/) Our Quality manager wants me to investigate the option as she doesnt like the fact that she keeps on finding the probe covers from the classic "in your ear" tympanics on the ground in the hospital.
These thermoflash types looked like they were going to condemn the "in your ear" type to the graveyard a few years back but then they seemed to fade and almost disappear from use.
I was wondering if anyone new a reason?
Or if there are hospitals/clinics out there that are currently using the non contact type, i'd be interested in getting your opinions on them?

Thanks Geoff, fairly inconclusive. The lack of calibration is a concern, finger in the wind job. Possibly too open to subjective readings.

Yes; unlike the traditional (and cheap) mercury thermometers. frown
