Good morning!

Our trust currently uses PB840s and PB980s, however looking at replacing these soon.

What do you guys and gals use?

We are migrating from PB840 to ServoU and are very happy with the move.

The only drawback from a user point of view is that, where with the 840 you can do the SST and then turn off and store, the ServoU does not "save" the pre-use test when powered down so it has to be done just prior to use or the vent left in standby mode.

From a biomed point of view, we have been almost entirely trouble free for 2 years, and the PM time is about 25% of time spent doing an 840. We find the dust filter needs to be cleaned about 4 monthly but that, of course, depends on usage.

Dave

I put the servo ventilators in a new ICU and had them pendant mounted to save space, also ordered a couple of free standing as back-ups.

Our 840s are extremely reliable and don't break down.

We have a couple of the 980s and they are problematic.

As a point of interest Dave, how do you dispose of "good, used" kit ... is there much of a used equipment market in Australia (auctions, and what-have-you)?

Or better still, are there routes to charitable donation? smile

If you don't inspect ... don't expect.

At the risk of getting "off topic" here, yep, there are a couple of companies who will on-sell equipment so when we have a decent amount we contact them, send them a list and ask for offers.

Geoff.

We sell our equipment to auctions and the money goes back into a rolling replacement program.
