Has anyone else out there had issues with the Verathon Prime Plus bladder scanner falling apart around the handle?

The green plastic breaking and becoming brittle?

Could it be the cleaning materials being used? Had a similar issue with a different device due to the use of alcohol wipes being used. I would check the cleaning protocols.

No, it is every single model breaking around the handle. The plastic is very flimsy and hollow.

It's going to cost nearly £1k per unit in parts.

They sent me an email saying they have not seen the issue in the UK.

I have just had to do an order for £6k to repair 11 units.

Have done an MHRA and will be looking at alternative suppliers.

Hi Neoteny
Verathon have indeed pulled a fast one. I have complained so many times about this problem that the president of the company contacted me from the USA. All of Verathon products have this problem and you will see it on their bladder scanners and glide scopes. I once sent a device in to them under warranty and they accused me that staff had clearly dropped it due to the cracks. As it was under warranty we received a loan model with exactly the same cracks.
Go to any hospital with Verathon products and you will see the same cracks in the same places.
Don't take no for an answer.
Clinell wipes do even more damage on top of this as the liquid seeps into the cracks.

We still have some BVI9400, still getting parts and support.

Recently unable to calibrate and have been back and forth with verathon, they stated it was a faulty unit, but this effected any scanner we tried to calbrate.

Rep came in (another one with false promises) stating they cannot support them and wont, not realizing that verathon themselves haven't got that information.

So we now have 12 bladder scanners we cannot use.

MHRA number 2.

We too have seen this issue on numerous occasions, one of the reasons we have now standardised on the AvantSonic Z5.
