Can anybody advise me how easy it is, and the best way to get from Birmingham Airport to Walsgrave Hospital, Coventry? And also how long is the journey time likely to be before 9.30am? confused

Thanks

The easiest way is to take the A45 South from the airport, then on to the M42 North for one junction and then on to the M6 South to Junction 2. Then follow the signs for Walsgrave Hospital (one mile from M6).

This should take about 30 minutes barring any hold ups. Busiest section is on the M42.

Allow yourself 45 minutes to be on the safe side.

May I recommend www.transportdirect.info

Try the “find a car route” and then enter the post codes (or whatever).

Being a bit out-of-date with the layout of modern Britain myself, I use this all the time, and have found it to be a great tool. smile

If you are using public Transport then catch a train from Birmingham Airport to Coventry and there is a bus service to the Hospital via the city centre, but allow your self plenty of time.If traveling by car then M6 south is the best route, take second exit off the motorway into Coventry, hospital is sign posted. Ihope this is helpful.

Just a small point, second exit off M6 motorway at Junction 2 will put you back on to the M6. Walsgrave Hospital is off 4th exit from roundabout at Junction 2!!

Best option is to fit your car with a sat nav system.

It will save you emailing.

They are only £2k and very useful.

The Walsgrave Hospital site is vertually impossible to park on much after 8am. frown
The alternative parking site is The Showcase Cinema on the Big Entertainment site, laugh adjacent to the turn off/roundabout, from the Motorway/A46. Free Buses run every 15minutes from there to Walsgave, its a continous circular route, this is a free service for NHS Staff, so stick something with an NHS logo on your dashboard. wink

Thanks Tony, Nice to know that it doesn't matter which hospital you go to the parking problem will be the same!!
