Over the last few days when I try to get on to this site I get a message telling me that I am on a server test page.
Are others having this problem of is it just me/ this ICT department?
Yes I do have the address correct.
Robert
Hi Robert
Yes, I've had the same problems. Maybe it's a Hampshire thing!!!
Me Too..... Fedora Test Page. Just assumed it was the stupid filter but maybe not.
Looks like Hampshire has got a lot bigger
Thanks guys, at least I know it is not a problem at this end.
One lesss problem for ICT to
not fix.
The print server went down last Thursday and we still have not had our printer re-instated despite many calls.
Robert
Thanks for letting me know guys.
If anyone else is getting problems can they also post here please.
Same problem here on and off
Same here over the last few days, intermittently Fedora test page.
OK, here's my farthing's worth ... I haven't noticed anything weird these past few days (and I've been logged on at all hours, on and off). What's going on, I wonder?
Same here on and off - pretty certain it's server problem.
This is the first time in 24 hours that I've been able to get on.
Lee
I've had this problem - albeit intermittently!
Guys, are any of you experiencing problems from non NHS sites.
I'm wondering if it is an NHS cache issue.
Not having any problems at all Huw.
Mark
I expect they're trying to log web surfing habits into the latest "Big Brother" database that I've just been hearing about.
Don't they (the NHS IT Thought Police) also block access to certain other sites (like eBay, for example)?
They're probably also wondering why the site gets so many hits from within NHS intranets, I should imagine. You have been warned.
Or maybe they keep tabs on the threads, and have detected a whiff of
criticism of the Almighty NHS!
No problems accessing this site from home now you ask!
The problem seems to be getting worse and intermittent. Tried to access the site several times this morning and only managed it twice.
Problems here as well in the Anglia region, I see more fedora pages than EBME ones, must be this Barracuda web filter thing they have installed, although if it was, it normally says 'Site Blocked' access denied, of which it does not.
Just my two pennys worth to help
Thanks guys, I can see that everyone posting, is in the same NHS network.
It looks like your IT dept is blocking the site. This happened a few years ago. They sorted it out when a few departments made them aware of the issue.
See this link.
I wonder it a simple direction works (that is, a link to the site from another site). This "technique" used to work with eBay, apparently.
Otherwise, it's going to be mighty quiet on here during the day!
No, i had the same problem out of work also (Live in Worcester)
Not sure I follow Geoff.
Don't worry, it will get sorted. It just needs the IT depts to be alerted.
Please give your IT dept a call to let them know this site is ok.
EBME is an approved NHS Resource.I don't think it's a direct 'block' as such (or there would be a "page blocked" alert as Skippy says).
They probably aren't allowing a reverse dns lookup or something similar.

That, I can't explain.
However, I
can tell you, that you are currently on the same NHS network as everyone else who has had problems.
EBME near the bottom of the
page under "Tech forums".
Any chance of putting a link for 'EBAY' on ere, that way I can keep track of my selling activities via e.b.m.e.
On a serous note, Huw, is the Fedora web page anything to do with the EBME web, or is it to do with the NHS side of things, I have spoken to our IT and they are coming to have a look T/M, I just needed to know who was what .
Cheers

Doesn't the link from my site do the business? See under "General stuff".

Thanks for the link Geoff, fraid it dont work here, this Barracuda is a strict filter
it wont even let us look at the BBC weather pages, blocks it as 'Entertainment'
What's that ... even my site is locked out!
Up until now, I hadn't even heard of
Barracuda ... what's the point of it? Are NHS managers saying that they don't trust their staff?
Which moron is charged with categorizing websites, I wonder. Would it be a person who understands the English language, for instance? I daren't ask if s/he is an internet
savvy person.
Not to mention the
cost of implementing the thing. But don't worry, the British taxpayer has become used to chucking away £££ trillions!
Tried it here Geoff,doesn't work.
What ... the link?
Guys,
Anyone who's had a problem, can you please clear your cache (Ctrl+F5) and let me know if everything is ok?
Thanks.
Hi Geoff,
Its not your site thats blocked! , its the link to Ebay via the links page, The moron who blocks these sites here is on something like £400 a day, called an IT manager, I must be in the wrong job here I think.
On a serous note, Huw, is the Fedora web page anything to do with the EBME web
I think it may indeed have been a server issue. I'm not getting any
403 alerts now.
I've had a few Fedora pages here. But we are experiencing a virus on our network at the moment, I assumed that our IT team were blocking sites.

Yes ... we're
all in the wrong job when it comes to bringing in the
wonga. But, don't forget that these so-called IT Managers will be Microsoft Certified
this and Microsoft Certified
that. Which means ... squat!
Judging from the ones I've had the good fortune to meet, those people know bugger all! Ideal for that role, then.
Huw,
It was last week, access has been ok since.
Thanks Bill, the error logs are considerably smaller now
