EBME Technician Supervisor Band 7 - Post holder is expected to rotate between Trust Sites as required by the Trust.
We are seeking to recruit two skilled NHS experienced EBME Technician Supervisors, having a background of training and practice of repair and maintenance of a wide range of complex medical equipment.
The post holder is required to work as an EBME technician and oversee EBME technicians and equipment library staff, and provide day to day supervision of the EBME Department. To ensure the team is maintaining and repairing medical devices to high standards and in accordance with the Trust Medical Devices Management Policy.
These posts are within the EBME Department at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, a large acute Trust with around 900 beds serving the population of South East London. The Trust has two hospitals University Hospital Lewisham, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and a number of sites in the Community. You will be required to work at hospital's main sites and to rotate between these sites at specified intervals. There is currently a team of 11 EBME and Equipment Library technicians working across both sites and plans have been approved to expand the number to 14. There an inter-site bus service between the two main sites and flexibility in working on both sites is required. Support to outlying Community sites is also required.
The Trust EBME department recently expanded to take an external contract in-house and is in the process of improvement to introduce a formal Quality System and is expanding its asset and job management system across the Trust.
The post requires as a minimum, a HNC qualification in electronics or equivalent, certified training in the repair and maintenance of a number of key types of complex & high value medical equipment. The applicant should have 5 years hands-on, repair and maintenance experience of complex medical equipment whilst working within an NHS hospital EBME department. The person we are seeking must be a good team worker, with good communications, willing to be flexible and supportive, and able to take responsibility for their own workload both in quality and volume and of the EBME team. Experience of using a computer data base for job management is essential, and good computer literacy is expected.
This is an excellent opportunity for an EBME technician Supervisor to be involved in a department that is expanding its role within a busy acute NHS Trust.
