A self-motivated and experienced compliance manager is required to join our busy Estates Department within the interesting remit of compliance.

The successful candidate will have experience of current legislation, regulatory bodies including HSE & HTM guidance applicable to running a safe and compliant hospital estate.

This role is a great opportunity to help the Trust deliver safe and compliant environments and equipment to support and improve clinical services. Working in the busy Estates and Facilities department you will be leading a number of varied work streams such as monitoring compliance through various external risk assessments (Water, Electrical Fire), including a directly employed EBME team, together with additional specialist provider support. The individual will input into differing projects dealing with a wide range of stakeholders as part of the Estates Management Team.

Appropriate scope of experience and accreditation is essential, and a flexible can-do attitude to the broad remit of the role is required to succeed. Working across the Trust you will be able to represent the Trust in key areas of compliance and will chair or support governance meetings required under Health Technical Memorandum. Having an engineering background, you will be able to offer pragmatic solutions to help maintain business continuity as the Estates & Facilities (Trust) representative.

You will support and monitor a modest budget for the EBME function and need to ensure that both the in-year financial delivery targets and the individual project budgets are managed. You will aid the Trust in prioritising high risk areas which require investment as well as being involved in supporting the planning of access for essential maintenance and lifecycle works.

The post offers someone the opportunity to work with a number of clinical specialties as well as experience of the corporate decision making systems and processes. Being able to provide a quality service and communicate effectively with key staff will be a significant advantage for both planned and reactive activities. The post holder will be offered support and feedback on their performance but will be expected to act autonomously.

Participation in the on call rota system is a requirement for the post for which there is an additional payment as per Agenda for Change after a qualifying period.
