Are you a talented, hard working and ambitious Medical Engineer looking to progress to the next stage of your career? Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals offers an exciting opportunity for a Technical Supervisor to lead the installation, commissioing, repair and service activities of our workshop at City Hospital and manage the Health & Safety compliance of both our City and Sandwell Departments. The successful applicant will demonstrate their comittment to staff development and continual quality improvement of the service.

The successful applicant will join the Trust at an important time in the development of our new Midland Metropolitan Hospital project, scheduled to open in 2022, as well as progressing exciting plans for Retained Estate at our existing hospital sites and further development of our community services to provide our Vision of Integrated Care.

The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of electrical and mechnical engineering theory, coupled with a logical approach to fault finding on complex medical equipment as well as excellent IT skills. A good understanding of the application and use of general medical equipment and medical terminology is desirable.

The ability to build and develop excellent relationships with Clinical Staff, Suppliers and Contractors is of paramount importance in this busy & varied role.

The role will include on-call (currently 1 week in 6).
