Eastwood Park is delighted to be supporting the NHS and other healthcare organisations in getting the most out of their apprenticeships once again, with the return of its Hospital Engineering Apprentice Summer School for 2018.

The summer school provides a solid understanding of working alongside multi healthcare engineering disciplines with practical, technical training, and is highly relevant at all stages of the apprenticeship programme. It will focus on linking general engineering practices to the requirements of relevant HTMs. Apprentices will gain a unique and much greater understanding of how the services they provide impacts on compliance of various HTMs.

Hospital engineering apprentice summer schoolThe week long programme covers a range of disciplines, giving apprentices an insight into areas open to them within a healthcare engineering career. Modules include:

  • Electrical installations in medical locations – an overview, including electrical safety (Section 710 BS7671)
  • Medical gas safety - including permits to work (HTM02)
  • Electrical safety testing for medical equipment (in accordance with IEC60601 & IEC62353)
  • The purpose of ventilation and critical ventilation systems in healthcare (HTM 03)
