Vacancies have arisen in the Clinical Engineering Section of the Medical Physics Department. Clinical Engineering Technicians perform a wide range of technical duties associated with the use of medical devices used throughout the Trust's clinical specialties.
We are looking for staff who have a sound understanding of basic scientific principles together with at least 3 years experience of technology support preferably in a healthcare environment. Duties will include testing and maintaining equipment incorporating electrical, electronic, pneumatic, mechanical and other technologies.
In addition to technical duties the successful applicants will be expected to visit clinical areas providing advice and assistance to nursing and other staff.
To qualify for the advertised grade an HNC/HND level in an appropriate technical subject is required but those studying towards this qualification may be considered for employment initially at a lower grade.
If you can demonstrate a keen interest in medical technology and communicate effectively with a wide range of staff often in stressful situations we would like to hear from you.
In return we offer opportunities to develop your career within a progressive friendly team providing a vital support service.
