All our equipment is currently tested elsewhere but I would be grateful if someone could tell me how easy is it to test defibrillators & what's involved in doing so?

It's easy enough when:- 1) You have a decent defib tester. 2) You know what you're doing! (best leave it to qualified people, Lel) PS: lousy spelling again, Mate.

Nicely corrected, then, Lel. But while I'm on, technical (computer) people don't like using ampersands, as they are used to convey other meanings in (for example) computer code! (see how much you're learning here?)

I recall a good old buddy of mine (he was an Egyptian, not that that really matters) saying "I have no friends, my work is my friend". And I could (and still can) relate to that! Remember too "Arbeit macht frei"!But, better yet:- "I keep six honest serving men (they taught me all I knew); their names are What and Why and When and How and Where and Who."- Rudyard Kipling

Buy someting to test them with.
We have recently purchased a device from Fluke, although we used to have an older device for testing our Defibs. We used to have S&W's, however recently have changed to Philips Heartstart etc.
What defibrillators do you have?

Lifepak 9's, Lifepak 9P's & Lifepak 12's. wasnt sure if there was a purpose built tester or simply using a meter was an option? i assumed it would not be that simple or wise?

Contact Fluke and ask if there tester is suitable for these (If you have the money!).
Most of your generic defib testers are multi-manufacturer so you can probably pick one up that will test them. It's not as if they are an oddball piece of kit.

All Lel needs (in my opinion) is a simple go/no-go tester of the old CR type (remember those?), Alan. Less there be no misunderstanding, he is in a warehouse environment (not a hospital, etc.). As I have already said, my advice is that he should leave such things to the "experts" (even though that means he may have to shell out a couple of bob)!
