If only it worked like that!!!!

Quite often the product(s) have been seen by a consultant somewhere and his particular patient is 'knocking on the door', this could be seen as their last chance, therefore every second counts. The last thing we would want to do is wait until the duty manager arrives before treatment can start. For everyday demo's the new system will be fine, but for emergencies it is flawed.
Thanks for your comments so far.

OK, so the Consultant takes responsibility! smile

That's one of the reasons they are paid so much.

What would be the situation if harm came to a patient due to a failure of equipment on loan / trial and no indemnity had been singed? I doubt the company would be treated any better by the courts. I'm not really sure any of us understand the legal situation.

My point exactly Daniel!
We guessed that guidance had been given to EBME staff accross the country regarding this, especially as we are not the only company to supply equipment outside of normal office hours. Judging by response's so far, it appears to be very up in the air and will be decided locally, with little input nationally.

?:)Just received the following:
Dear Council Member

Following on from the recent communication from Peter Coates confirming that responsibility for NHS terms and conditions will lie with John Warrington at the Department of Health, I have now received confirmation from Jill Peters that John Warrington will also be looking after the Master Indemnity Scheme.

I would be grateful if Branch Co-ordinators would forward this information on to all their Branch Members.

Kind regards.

HCSA Chair

So, how long is it going to take the DoH to talk to Scotland & then re-invent the wheel ???
