We have biliblankets in our trust, but I thought we did not need to spend a lot of money on the calibrator as we just change the bulbs after so many hours. The trouble was one of my collegues thought that the fibre optic cable was damaged, and we had no way of testing if all the light was comming through. I have put in two bids for a calibrator but both were refused.

Try the light meter available from Maplins. Cheap, but useful (for an indication, at least). smile

we use a biliblanket meter ll to check all our phototherapy units.this meter is also used to check and adjust the output of our neo blue units.to get the unit calibrated we go to optical Test and calibrations tel 01274 393857(this is where GE get their meters calibrated)

if you are expected to validate the output of these devices then you need the correct test equipment.

Hi All

We are wanting a meter that will check the output of our Blue lamp devices namely the fisher paykel and the natus neoblue. Had a look in Rs but all theirs are for fluorescents and the like. We need on that works at the right frequency. Any ideas.

Thanks
Billy

Google? smile

Historically, the Olympic Bili-Meter was always the one!
