We have earlier Max Personal & MAC 1 ecg m/c's and the price of the cables for these are approx £70.00. We purchased MAC 5000's last year and the cost of these cables is £218.00. The only difference between these cable is the associated connector. We queried the price but got nowhere with GE. I think this is a rip off.

The Mac 5000 is a totally different animal to either the MAC 1 or Max Personal, neither of which can use the Mac 5000's acquisition module, CAM 14. The cable is totally different. We have Mac 5000 and Mac 8's (the previous generation) and the cables / acquisition modules are totally uncompatible. Same goes for the Cardiosmart and the newer Mac 1100's. The engine from a Ford Galaxy won't fit into a Ford Ka. Same thing really.
