Our job sheets are uploaded and downloaded to the PDA and our database (E-MAT)and we also collect the signatures on the PDA from Sisters etc on the ward. I can’t tell you the number of times this signature has took the wind out of their sails when otherwise we would have been accused of leaving equipment with out telling anyone etc. Would a TV repairman leave a customers house without some record that he was there and the customer was happy with the job? Don’t think so.
In short I think dropping the signature is a real BAD idea.
