Dear all,
Do any other departments employ ATO's? We have recently taken on several staff at ATO level. Over the last two years their duties have been gradually increased to the point that they are doing much of the work normally carried out by qualified biomeds at MTO2 grade. Does anyone have any guidance as to the level of responsibilities that ATO's should be restricted to? I've looked at the Healthcare Sciences framework drawn up for the DoH but the definitions are a bit wooly (nothing unusual there). The actual grade our ATO's are on straddles AFC1 and 2 (we have a local pay spine not related to AFC or Whiley).
