OK, Rob, I’ve looked at the Eastwood Park "Foundation Degree in Medical Technologies" stuff, and notice that there are three Pathways, namely:-

Medical Equipment Technology
Medical Device Decontamination
Medical Gas Technology

... all of which look interesting. But I notice that they contain some modules common to all three two-year courses. Would it be possible to do them all at once, I wonder? And, to be clear, we’re talking about an outlay of £ 3,000 for each two-year course, right?

It seems to me that these opportunities are really aimed at youngsters, and/or new entrants into the biomed profession. But would these courses also be suitable for old-timers (such as myself), wanting to refresh and update their knowledge, and gain "modern" qualifications? And for those of us not engaged in regular work (ditto), and therefore lacking mentors?

It was the mention of mentors that drove me to think that we’re really talking about young people here. I can’t imagine older people needing mentors. And, conversely, I can’t imagine a younger person wanting to mentor someone older (such as myself), as the boot is usually on the other foot! smile

If you don't inspect ... don't expect.
