The McKinley is an excellent pump and is an ideal replacement for the Graseby MS16/24 in that it is a similar size and can be programmed to infuse over a set period of time ie 24 hours.
In addition, it is readily accepted by the nursing fraternity in that it is not a big change for them, but it has the capability to be used in the same way as more established syringe drivers like those from Alaris.
Having said that, Alaris' contribution to the ambulatory market is far too complicated and makes too many assumptions in programming to be acceptable.
