These meetings are about meeting other people working in a similar line, listening to talks from people with a wealth of experience (John's one of the speakers at the IPEM study day), explanations of physiological use and effect that we as engineers may not be familiar with; and for those of us in the NHS it gives some evidence of CPD that even the management can understand.
The sponsors take all the normal benefits that any sponsor gains from an event ie exposure, contacts and leads.
