I take it they mean the scales are outwith the maximum permissible error for their weight range. As all hospitals are supposed to use class 3 scales, so this means an error of as little as 50g - 100g as derived from the NAWI regulations.
They are being a little picky as far as I'm concerned. A patient's weight never needs to be that accurate or we'ed have to strip every time the doc wanted to weigh us.
