We used to have a total ban here but this has now been changed to a ban in all clinical areas and patient waiting areas for patients and visitors. It is supposed to include medics as well but these are a law unto themselves. Although the ban includes wards, we have to give a little discretion to people like the elderly lady recently, whose only next of kin were in Australia.
