As is well known, I am a supporter of the "home grown" approach, but appreciate that is not everyone's cup of tea.* Some people need an off the shelf system to quickly get things up and running. And, to be honest, in many cases more or less
any generic CMMS is likely to be an improvement on what people are doing at present.
