Hello, we have recently installed Oxylog 3000 plus models for the North West Transport Service Paediatric Service, and upon acceptance made the following observations.
The EtCO2 graphical user interface facility has presented a discrepancy when tested with a Drager Calibration Gas of concentration 5% CO2. The indicated EtCO2 reading was 3%, and the Service mode confirmed this.
The FiO2 settings can be user selected between 40% and 100%. Independent verification with our test equipment has indicated that low settings of less than 60% can produce readings in excess of the published ± 10% accuracy specified.
For example a 40% selected concentration will produce a measured concentration at the point of patient delivery slightly in excess of 50% (which exceeds the expected accuracy).
When a concentration in excess of 60% is selected, the measured concentration falls within the expected published accuracy. The clinical significance of being unable to deliver oxygen concentrations of less than 50% during patient transport is yet to be confirmed.
Drager Medical are currently looking into the issues raised, and indicated that the lower FiO2 concentrations occur at a point on the published response curve which requires greater clarification.
Hope this helps
