Dear all,
please ensure you have reviewed the NHSLA assesment criteria for 2011/12, as the requirements for medical device maintenance have CHANGED. see the NHSLA website, link in the top left hand corner.
Standards 3.6 med dev maint, has been renumbered to 3.7 and section "D - process for ensuring all medical devices and equipment are repaired" is now carried forward into level 2, so evidence wil be requied for this, if your organisation is a level 2 or above.
Also see page 29 of the guidance, as the NHSLA re reviewing the wholestandard, and next year (2012) may be looking at any backlogs of maintenance - which may be difficult in this climate!!!!!
The training criteria is also still under review, but no changes this year,
