Believe it or not, there are still biomeds out there in the world who crack on and address "issues" (presumably meaning defects, real or perceived) - often with only limited resources to hand - without sitting around waiting for official sanction. That is, they actually repair (or at least attempt to repair) the kit when it's broken!
