Someone tried to cheer me up (?) recently by advising that:-
"Part of the reason for multiculturalism policy was for immigrant peoples to retain the culture they brought with them, in order that they wouldn't feel out of place once they returned home".
Yeah, right.
Could that be how come a bloke I know still can't (be arsed to) speak English, even having been in [a town near junction 34 of the M1 motorway] for over thirty years? You know, he's planning to go "home" soon?
