Meanwhile, has anyone had good results using the
Momento database (or any other database, for that matter) on an Android device?
I'm considering ways of "subbing out" (delivering sub-sets of data) from a main equipment database (CMMS, whatever) allowing techs to sally forth and turn in their PM commitments (for example) using individual hand-held devices ... and then be able to
sync (and, if necessary, add and [or] correct data) back to the main database.
And I would prefer to be able to do this without re-inventing the wheel, using "what's already out there", and without spending months writing code (whilst the rest of the world zooms on ahead anyway).
More about Momento. It's interesting to note a capability to migrate data (import and export)
via good old CSV files. As they say, there's nothing new under the sun (it's just packaged - and
sold - differently)! Entering data
via SMS sounds intriguing, too. Either way, I hope to find time to have a "play" later.
