I'm interested in doing a project, being a clinical engineer in an EBME department. I have a great understanding on how pretty much all devices work including the theory of operation. However I'm not sure what to do it in as I don't know what would be useful (benefit the EBME department or the hospital) and appropriate. By appropriate I mean involve minimum/little patient and clinical staff participation and also not cost the department much financially. I do have a particular interest in mechanical devices but would be interested also in something which involves each aspects of mechatronics. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
