Sisyphus:- in Greek mythology Sisyphus was the king of what is now known as Corinth. He was punished for his various failings, overall corruption and deceitfulness by being forced to roll an immense boulder up a hill, only for it to roll down when it nears the top, repeating this action for eternity. Tasks that are repetitive (in fact, never ending), yet both labourious and futile are sometimes described as Sisyphean.
