I've just noticed the vote/survey bit on the home page - a great idea! Paul

Big cheesy grin. Cheers Paul. Any ideas for survey questions? How long to leave each question up? 1 month or 3? The site gets more hits all the time. It's still unknown and running on word of mouth, but is going to be officially 'launched' at the Biomed seminar next month, hopefully more people will join in with the forums then. I think things are going well, considering its only been running 3 months. If anyone has any ideas - speak freely, please.

CAN WE PUT SOME IDEAS TOGETHER IN TERMS OF FUTURE OF MEDICAL EQUIPMENT MANAGEMENT AND POLICIES: E.G.
PPM PLANS AND RECORD SHEETS
PROTOCOLS
DOCUMENTATION
TECHNICIAN / STAFF TRAINING (TECHNICAL)
USER TRAINING
I AM SURE WE ARE ALL DOING THE SAME AND RE INVENTING THE WHEEL. I THINK WE HAVE OPPORTUNITIES TO FLY THE FLAG IN OUR OWN TRUSTS. SAME AS ROYAL COLLEGE OF SURGEONS GUIDELINES, ETC.

We are in the process of getting our equipment management forms sorted out and once they are done we'll put them on as downloads. We are doing this as part of ISO9002, but our target is not until April 2001, so we do not have the all the procedures written yet.

Could we have a home-page survey like the decontamination one about ebme depts & purchasing equipment. eg. do all equip purchasing/always consulted/sometimes consulted/total mess. It's an uphill struggle here - some figures may be useful!

Hey! It was only a suggestion! Don't start asking hard questions !

Management of equipment covers a whole range of things, I suppose. It covers some of the points raised by other people such as E.B.M.E. involvement in equipment selection, trials, acceptance, disposal etc. plus the day to day stuff like logging services and repair, keeping an inventory up to date - sharing information about databases is covered by another topic, I suppose, but sharing other peoples experiences and knowing how involved (or not) other departments are in this sort of thing could provide people with amunition to argue their own case.

The recruitment forum doesn't appear to be working?
