John Moxon: That's it, the final whistle, England are World Champions!

Bill Mcg: Ayeeeeeee, but they're nay as good World Champions as Bobby Moore's Team, or nay as good as Maradona's team, Beckenbauer's team etc etc etc, Rooney's hat trick in the final was lucky etc etc.

Good job we're all mates eh !!! wink wink wink

Waht a frustating game of ups and downs. When are we going to beat the Swedes? 38 years is too long!!
Ah, well, at least we are through and now have to raise the game against Ecuador on Sunday.
I suppose Bill mcg will claim that it was all down to Frederik Laarson, a pseudo Scotsman??!!

Cheers to the Engerlund team for last night. I haven't laughed so much in ages, that 2nd Swedish goal by Henrick Larrson was priceless. (Henrick is indeed a pseudo Scot and his wee lad was born in Scotland and will therefore be eligible to play for us) You got kinda lucky there guys, they hit the woodwork twice and were denied a penalty. Sorry to see Owen limp off though, leaves you a bit short of strikers. Why won't Sven play Walcott ? He obviously thinks he's good enough otherwise why is he in the squad ? Any thoughts for Ecuador on Sunday ? smilewink smilewink

If you defend like a pub team it leaves a lot of questions to be answered. It's not as if they got undone by some samba magic, just the kind of crosses thrown in during premiership matches week in week out. Sven obviously doesn't have faith in Theo Walcott to do the job otherwise he would have thrown him on last night and left Crouch and his yellow card on the bench like he said he was doing.

Ecuador on Sunday. England will probably muddle through like they tend to do against that type of team. As for beyond that, I refer you to the first line of my post. You can't defend like that and win the World Cup.

Any thoughts on the guy in an England shirt getting dragged from his car in Aberdeen and beaten to a pulp? What's that all about then?

I'm afraid that Aberdeen has it's fair share of ar****les just like every where else. There is always one or two who are going to get everyone a bad name. This attack has been widely condemmed by a large number of people in all walks of life including our politicians and I echo their sentiments. Let's hope they catch the lowlife that did it mad and then we get back to the more gentle art of winding each other up. shades

Well Said Bill,

As for England, lets look at the positives...erm...oops. Maybe we should send them all up to Aberdeen for a good kicking, that will wake them up. I do however fancy them against Ecuador. I heard on Five Live that our wonderful Swedish coach never actually says anything to the players at half time, instead he leaves the players to debate their own performance? whats that all about, throw a few cups about is what you need....

Sunday guess: 2-0 for England with both goals from Rooney.

Well here's my "biased" prediction for Sunday. A 1-1 draw after 90 minutes and extra time with England sneaking through on penalties. England's goal scored by Lampard with a long range effort. I sign off by saying "Come on Ecuador get stuck intae them" smilewink

Hard luck Bill, your going to have to suffer us for another week!!!!
Great free kick from Beckham, but as for the rest???
When is Lampard going to hit the target?
England keep scraping through, but in the end that's all that matters.
