I went paintballing on the weekend with friends from Harlow, Bedford, and Norfolk hospitals. I can now advise it is nothing like waterpistols.

we were all covered in bruises by the end of the session. Although we did enjoy it, I think i would wear body armour if i did it again! Not for Kids!

Any would be challengers for another battle in a few months? boggle ninja

eeeeeeeeeem, yes, i'd do it, cant be weekend thou!
I did do it a few years ago, manc's vs scoucers, much fun had.
Played a game where a hostage was taken and we had to rescue him, anyway after a couple of brandys (as it was cold) we forgot this and 'took the hostage out' (I shot him from 100m!!!!)
you may not want to play with me!!!!!!

Paintballing sucks... Airsoft skirmishing is where its at..

The shotguns/sniper rifles/smgs/assault rifles/heavy machineguns/grenade launchers/pistols we use are all working replicas of the real thing and will shoot out accurately to about 40-50 yards, don't hurt despite occasional the burst of 800 rounds per minute of 6mm biodegradeable bb's. Nor do the guns resemble a plumbing disaster, nor do we resemble powerrangers. My gear is all genuine US Vietnam olive drab or ARVN tigerstripes, but we have British/US paras. Russian Spetnatz, 2nd SS, each has a favourite themed loadout. Any weapon held in a Police/Military inventory since 1900, we can probably get as a working airsoft replica..

There are thousands of guys and women playing this every weekend at sites all over the country indoors and out, so if you want to try, go for it, but I'll warn you now, its highly addictive, but immense fun..

whats the point if it doesnt hurt? you need the fear of pain to make it realistic. Airsoft is the wimps choice! Besides, paintball guns can look just as realistic as airsoft, you just have to know where to look.

Cyberdog (excellent airsoft callsign btw!)

It can hurt.. the weapons muzzle energy is akin to a .177 air pistol but with bigger but lighter ammo. A decent sniper rifle will be accurate to over 100yards and you will certainly feel the 'thwack' when the ball (0.25g @ £10 for 5000) hits you. My AK47 and M733 will penetrate the bottom of a Coke can at 1 metre range. This is the legal limit for a section 5 weapon. At woodland/cqb engagement distances they will hurt so there's the fear element for you masochists!!

A lot of these weapons come from the far east where this sport is bigger than football, golf etc.. Its big business and as such the quality of the guns and the upgrade parts are superb.

Those M4/MP5 etc paintball replica guns are totally illegal due to their ability to fire full auto at a muzzle energy over 1.35joules. Get caught with one and you'll be inside before you know it. They're also crap quality, don't say I didn't warn you!!

In case any misguided souls think that we have leanings towards political ideals, your more likely to find airsofters on 'stop the war' protests. Airsoft is like playing for real those favourite pc games I know you all play and with your favourite loadouts and weapons...
