Hi, Iam doing a risk assessment on these little blighters and will be standardizing on the MS16A as our sister Hospital Hastings has allready elected to use the MS16A. It would be great to do a swap with the MS26 and save lots of dosh. Looking forward to hearing from anyone out there who would like to save money.
Cheers Fran eek

That's odd not to get any answers at all....
Perhaps re-phrasing the question would help?

The question says...
Quote:
do a swap with the MS26 and save lots of dosh.
But then the poll gives two options
  • swap MS26 for MS16A
  • save money

confused confused confused

Anyhow, I suspect they made their decision a long time ago.

I guess Frances was hoping to exchange their MS26’s with someone else’s MS16A’s, in an effort to standardise on MS16’s where she is. She’s probably still waiting for a response! smile

We have just withdrawn all our MS16's due to incidents, etc. I am surprised your Trust is trying to save money? Whose idea is this? What about your Nursing Director and Clinical risk manager? I suggest you look at national picture.

I must add, this is not a replay to condemn the product.

Hi,sorry if my message was confusing. Since June I did a lot of research and a business plan and our hospital has now standardised on the MS26 and we sent all our MS16As to our sister hospital the Conquest.Until a very safe and reliable syringe driver comes on the market that is not expensive we are now only using the MS26 for subcutaneous use only.
Many thanks for your replies
Fran

Keep your powder dry chaps, help (a viable ambulatory syringe driver) could be on the way within a few months. smile

Will keep you informed asap.

The T34 from McKinley Medical looks like an excellent replacement for the MS16/26. having seen a working model it has all the features required for such a pump. Hopefully it will be available soon and we can do a proper evaluation.

I have been informed that, if all goes well, the T34 should be on the market by the end of April.

As Smiths Medical have shelved the Advancia, it looks like the T34 will have no competition.
