Morning people,

I have just recieved an MSE centrifuge for repair, you can open the lid while the centrifuge is still spinning! Is it possible that anyone on this forum has a circuit diagram for this product? or possibly know where i might get one?

Thank you in advance,

Simon.

A google search on "MSE Centrifuge" produced the following link :

http://www.reallabware.com/MSE/

On which, near the bottom it says :" This hugely popular range Is now being manufactured by MSE(UK) a subsidiary of Henderson Biomedical, a UK based specialist centrifuge and scientific instrument service organisation. "

Henderson Biomedical have a web presence at :

http://www.henderson-biomedical.co.uk/

and on their home page say :
"Henderson Biomedical Ltd is pleased to announce the formation of a sister company, MSE (UK) Ltd. MSE (UK) Ltd has taken over the manufacture of MSE centrifuges from Sanyo Gallemkamp Plc. MSE (UK) Ltd can be contacted at www.mseuk.co.uk or by telephoning 020 8402 4426."

Snail Mail address :

MSE (UK) Limited
97 Avenue Road
BECKENHAM

United Kingdom

When I worked at Manchester Royal years ago, we had a circuit diagram for this very model.

The fault you describe could be the solenoid not working properly , or the mechanical striking pin worn!! I used to phone a guy called Bertrand Trend in Fisons Scientific for parts and stuff.. if there still going give them a call!!..?

Hi Simon,

Which Type of Microcentaur is it? The new style is Grey with a red LED display, the older style is blue or orange case work with a manual timer.

This is quiet a common fault in the old style. It usually points to the lid lock triac. There are two T0-220 packages on the pcb one is an SCR for the motor drive the other the lid lock triac.

On the new style its most likely to be a sticking solenoid.

If you still need one I could email a PDF of the circuit diagram to you.

Hope this helps

The triac is the Achilles heal of this device - All parts etc are obtained from THERMO-ELECTRON CORPORATION ,UNIT 5, THE RINGWAY CENTRE
EDISON ROAD ,BASINGSTOKE ,HANTS ,Telephone: 01256 817282. There is a guy called Nigel Lilly in Service who has been working on these devices for over 20 years and if he can't help you - no one can.

lets be safe out there.........
