Renal Techs @ Royal Free
1x MTO5 - Band 8a
3x MTO4 - Band 7
1xMTO2 not yet graded.

Originally one band lower then resubmitted after clarification of qualifications and experience required. Did not need JAQs or appeals thankfully.

It seems like a very long time ago I started this thread, and what a response it had!!

I am in a position where I now need help from anyone who is willing to; even a word of encouragement would help!!!

I am feeling so unmotivated, can't even think why I bothered turning up today!!

I would really apprecaite any hints and tips that anyone has regarding trying to overturn a avery poor banding, I have already submitted a a JAQ, so where do I go now??!

Has your JAQ been evaluated yet?

1. On the appeal refer to the AFC handbook, job description, profile and quote refs. Responsible for x, y , z = r Points

2.Speak to your manger and discuss issues.

3. AFC is about equal pay for equal jobs find a role with similar responsibilities.

4. If really unhappy consider applying for another role/job.

Hi Tracey. We received a very poor banding result first time round aswell. (In fact, I think you helped us with compiling our revised JD) We spent time collecting AFC results from any Trust who would share the info (local and further afield) to help us with our argument/appeal. This was looked at more favourably than our JAQ as it's extremely hard to argue against a direct comparison of identical jobs with so differing outcomes. The end result meant we moved up 2 Bands so I supposed they must have paid atleast some attention!

Tracy,
Your post at the start of this thread (22/07/2005) seemed to suggest that you were happy with your result. You said "I am absoultely amazed and will be in the pub very soon".

Now, nearly 12 months later, you say you have submitted a JAQ and have had a very poor banding.

What has happened in the past year that has caused this change?

Martin
